Wondering what to prepare for the family Christmas dessert this year?  Have you looked at the lovely mouthwatering recipes strewn across the internet?  Well, you don’t have to.  Here is one very colorful and enticing Northpole Christmas recipes for your family to enjoy.  It is very easy to make and not at all time consuming.  It will allow you to devote more time towards preparation of the main Christmas meal and every one of your family members will certainly love this Christmas dessert recipe.  It is called “Tricolor Diplomat”.

 

Ingredients: 4 cups milk; 3 cups cream; 8 egg yolks; 40 grams gelatin; approximately 8 tablespoons sugar; about 2 tablespoons water; 20 grams chocolate, a few drops of strawberry essence; 2 teaspoons vanilla; pink color.

 

Method: Cream egg yolks and sugar.  Add boiling milk.  Put in a double boiler and cook till custard thickens (it should coat the back of a wooden spoon).  Add gelatin dissolved in 2 tablespoons of warm water.  Mix well.  Allow to cool.  Add whipped cream.  Divide into 3 portions.  Flavor one with vanilla, the second with strawberry essence and pink color.  Blend chocolate with a little cold milk.  Cook for a few minutes and add to the third portion of the mixture.  Coat an oiled jelly mould with the vanilla-flavored cream.  Set another jelly mould into the first one and fill with ice cubes.  Keep in the refrigerator.  When the cream has set, remove ice cubes from the centre one and gently remove the inner mould.  Fill centre with alternative layers of strawberry and chocolate cream.  Leave to set.  Turn out when about to serve.  Cut out a thin slice to reveal the beauty of the dessert.  Lo and behold!
